The Community:

Retire in Paonia, Colorado, a quaint mountain village of 1600 people located in West Central Colorado.  Vineyards and orchards surround this town where organic foods of all varieties are grown each summer.   The four seasons provide a variety of climate, with easy winters followed by a refreshing springtime, then a warm toasty summer which leads into a glorious autumn.  Residents can walk to all local services in this pedestrian oriented community.  Music and arts activities flourish, with programs emanating from the Blue Sage Center for the Arts, the Paradise Theatre and KVNF Mountain Grown Radio.  There are nearby rivers to fish, mountains to climb, trails to hike and canyons to explore.  The Library is located at the heart of the community with a bookstore nearby. Paonia is home to High Country News and Chaco Sandals as well as many artisans, crafters and professionals.  Two highly qualified physicians manage the North Fork Clinic as family practitioners.  The Delta County Memorial Hospital, a well established institution with new facilities lies thirty miles to the west.  Paonia is off the beaten path where traffic is a rarity, people are neighbors and life is laid-back.  Come here and see!
